MINSK, 6 June (BelTA) – Belarus has plans to sign an agreement on the supplies of beef to the Chinese market in July, Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister Leonid Zayats told the media on 6 June, BelTA has learned.
The minister pointed out that China is one of the most promising markets for Belarusian agricultural products. The process of certification of Belarusian meat products by Chinese specialists for sale in China continues.
Representatives of large Chinese commercial enterprises and organizations have arrived in Minsk to attend the international agricultural expo Belagro 2017 that opens on 6 June.
Leonid Zayats said that more than 30 delegations have come to participate in the forum. Some of the delegations include agriculture ministers. Talks are underway with these delegations to discuss cooperation prospects.
The current year is quite successful in terms of the export of Belarusian agricultural products to foreign markets, including new promising ones. In January-March 2017, the net profit of the sector totaled Br130 million, a considerable increase from the previous year.
Some $5.6 million worth of products has been sold to promising markets this year. The figure is several times higher than in 2016.
