MINSK, 16 November (BelTA) – Plans are in plans to launch the production of ice cream in China from ingredients of Slutsk milk processors, BelTA learned from Slutsk Cheese Making Factory.
Slutsk producers have been maintaining economic ties with China for at least five years already. China accounts for 11% of the plant’s total exports, and the Chinese market ranks second after Russia. Milk powder (both whole and skimmed milk), various types of whey are in high demand. Recently the Slutsk plant has signed a contract for the supply of packaged dried milk products.
Cheeses, lactose-free dairy products, whole milk, and several types of ice cream from Slutsk were on display at the China International Import Exhibition held in Shanghai on 5-10 November. The Belarusian ice cream drew the biggest interest.
Slutsk milk processors and Chinese partners have signed an agreement on joint production. According to the document, an ice cream production facility will be built in China. Ingredients will be supplied from Minsk Oblast. It is not yet known how many types of ice cream will be produced at the new production site, but the line will be formed taking into account the taste preferences of local consumers.
