MINSK, 17 January (BelTA) – Belarus will play host to the international symposium Integration of Belarusian Scientists in Research Programs of Leading International Nuclear Physics Centers in April 2017, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB).
“In early January, Deputy Chairman of the NASB Presidium Sergei Kilin met with Christoph Schaefer and Tadeusz Kurtyka, official representatives of the international relations sector of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). The parties discussed preparations for the large-scale international symposium Integration of Belarusian Scientists in Research Programs of Leading International Nuclear Physics Centers that will be held by the National Academy of Sciences in April 2017 within the framework of the Year of Science in Belarus,” the press service said.
The sides also considered the draft of a new agreement between the Belarusian government and CERN on scientific and technical cooperation in the field of high energy physics. The agreement will aim to upgrade the system of cooperation between Belarusian scientists and CERN bearing in mind the role of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in the organization of research in this fast-evolving branch of science. “The parties agreed on the procedure for signing the document. New cooperation areas were discussed, including the implementation of joint research projects, preparation of joint publications, organization of joint advanced training programs for young scientists and university teachers, and educational programs for university students,” the NASB representatives added.
