MINSK, 6 January (BelTA) – The Economy Ministry of Belarus has approved a plan of action for 2015 to set up a network of startup schools and hold regular contests of innovative business projects. The plan provides for the organization of 178 startup events in the capital city and Belarusian regions, BelTA learned from the Economy Ministry.
“We have been developing such plans since 2012. Now we can say that they have proved to be useful in the process of interaction between the Belarusian Economy Ministry, Oblast Executive Committees, the Minsk City Hall and the organizations that prepare and hold startup events,” the Economy Ministry noted. It explained that such system provides the organizations with information and financial assistance on the part of local government bodies.
At the moment the Economy Ministry is cooperating with eleven key organizations involved in the preparation of startup events in the country. A number of civil servants at oblast executive committees and the Minsk City Hall have been assigned to develop cooperation with such organizations and help them set up a network of startup schools in Belarusian regions and hold regular contests of innovative business projects for fledgling business.
