MINSK, 11 June (BelTA) – The House of Representatives passed a bill concerning the ratification of the framework agreement between the Republic of Belarus and the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) on 11 June, BelTA informs.
According to Chairman of the House of Representatives’ commission on economic policy Viktor Valyushchitsky, Belarus has been cooperating with the corporation since 2007. “Today’s ratification of the framework agreement will allow us working in another format, another legal field. This organization gets the status of an international financial organization in Belarus and is vested with certain rights and powers,” the MP said.
In his words, Belarus and NEFCO are working on 12 projects estimated at $9.3 million. Another 20 projects to the total tune of $100 million are under consideration. The projects will pertain to the utility sector, environment, energy efficiency and other areas.
