MINSK, 24 January (BelTA) - Belarus plans to expand the assortment of food supplies to Mongolia, Belarus’ Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Vadim Shagoiko told BelTA before the meeting of the Belarus-Mongolia intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation on 24 January.

"Mongolia is a strategic partner for Belarus. We have been cooperating for many years. We have been actively supplying agricultural products and foodstuffs there, and we aim to expand the range of exports. Today we are going to discuss livestock supplies and cooperation in cattle breeding. We hope to discuss these matters in great detail," Vadim Shagoiko said.

A cooperation agreement on cattle breeding between Belplemzhivobedinenie (Belarus) and the State Agricultural Corporation of Mongolia will be signed following the meeting on 24 January. The agreement will provide for the supply of cattle of Belarusian breeds to Mongolia.

At the meeting, the parties will discuss the state and prospects of Belarus-Mongolia cooperation, primarily in the trade and economic sector, and share views on a wide range of areas of interaction, including industry, agriculture, transportation, logistics, finance, education, culture and science.

A busy program has been prepared for the Mongolian delegation. The program includes visits to the flagships of the Belarusian industry, ministries and organizations, and agricultural enterprises.
