DUSHANBE, 14 September (BelTA) – Belarus will deliver MAZ dump trucks to Tajikistan as humanitarian aid. This decision was made by Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Tajikistan Olga Gavruk told reporters on 14 September, BelTA has learned.
The diplomat expressed confidence that as soon as Tajik partners get familiar with the MAZ equipment, the cooperation in this field will reach a new level.
Speaking about humanitarian cooperation, Olga Gavruk emphasized that the interaction in education is increasingly vibrant. The number of students of the joint department established at the Tajik National University and the Belarusian National Technical University is increasing every year. There are plans to establish a joint IT technology department at the Belarusian State University and the Tajik National University. The number of quota and fee-paying students from Tajikistan at Belarusian universities is also increasing every year. At present there are more then 300 students from Tajikistan in Belarus. “Taking into account the fact that there were only 5-8 students in the past, this is a huge progress. And the interest in the Belarusian education is enhancing because people studying in Belarus tell their friends and relatives how good it is to study in Belarus, what conditions have been created for them; they also tell their friends that Belarus is a prosperous and calm country which gives an opportunity to study and live well,” the diplomat remarked.
