Belarus to cooperate with Russia’s Samara Oblast in IT, automaking, agribusiness

MOSCOW, 20 April (BelTA) – A Belarusian delegation led by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Vladimir Semashko visited Russia’s Samara Oblast on 19-20 April, the embassy’s press service told BelTA.

The ambassador met with Samara Oblast Governor Dmitry Azarov. A broad range of matters of bilateral cooperation was discussed. Agreements in principle were reached on automobile engineering, manufacturing cooperation, agriculture, healthcare, tourism, and IT industry.

The Belarusian delegation visited Samara’s tram and trolleybus operating company where sales of Belarusian electric buses, new models of trams and trolleybuses were discussed.

Members of the delegation visited a vehicle service station of a local dealership of Belarusian vehicles and the industrial-type free economic zone Tolyatti. They examined manufacturing sites and took a close look at a nitrile gloves manufacturing line of the Samara medical goods factory. Prospects of mutually beneficial cooperation were sketched out.

The Belarusian delegation participated in a ceremony to lay flowers at a WW2 memorial in Slavy Square together with representatives of the Samara Oblast administration. Representatives of local public associations of Belarusians and the Belarusian public association Belaya Rus took part in the ceremony as well.
