Belarus to attend Atomexpo 2024 in Sochi

MINSK, 20 March (BelTA) - A delegation of the Belarusian Energy Ministry headed by Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich will take part in the 13th International Forum Atomexpo 2024, which will be held in Sochi, Russia on 25-26 March, BelTA learned from the press service of the Energy Ministry.

The delegation will include representatives of the Belenergo Production Association, the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant, and the Belarusian Organization for Radioactive Waste Management.

"The key topic this year is Clean Energy: Creating the Future. The business program includes various panel discussions on topical issues of the development of nuclear energy and related industries, including innovations in radioactive waste management, quantum technologies, digital intelligent production, advanced solutions for healthcare and education and electric transport," the Energy Ministry said.

The exhibition that will be co-located with the forum will present the key achievements of the nuclear industry. The Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant will also present its stand. It will narrate about the construction and operation of the BelNPP, its integration into the energy system and the country's economy, the history of the project and interesting facts about the use of peaceful nuclear energy. On the sidelines of the forum, Belarusian and Russian specialized organization will sign documents on cooperation .

 Atomexpo is a key exhibition event in Russian nuclear industry. The forum represents a site for discussion of various aspects of the modern nuclear power industry and areas of its further development. It brings together includes the leaders of the world nuclear power industry, representatives of international, national and public organizations, Russian and foreign companies, key experts in nuclear area.
