KAZAN, 15 March (BelTA) – Belarus and Tatarstan will update the roadmap of trade and economic cooperation, President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov told reporters after the meeting with Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov on 15 March, BelTA has learned.
“Belarus is one of the leading trade partners of Tatarstan. We have discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation with the Belarusian colleagues today. We need to update the roadmap of trade, economic and investment cooperation,” Rustam Minnikhanov noted.
In his words, the participants of the meeting managed to determine ways to expand the range of products and increase the bilateral trade turnover. The sides agreed to step up the efforts of the working group to enhance cooperation. “It is important to bolster the cooperation of our manufacturers, first of all, in machine building and advanced technology. The priority areas of cooperation include petroleum chemistry, manufacturing industry, including light industry. These areas will be in the center of attention of our ministries and agencies,” he said.
Rustam Minnikhanov said that the cooperation in culture, science, education, sport, and tourism opens up wide opportunities. “There is an untapped potential. The both sides need to step up efforts in this field. I am convinced that the visit of the Belarusian delegation will help develop cooperation between our countries. We must support each other in this complicated period of time,” he concluded.
