MINSK, 23 September (BelTA) – Over 940,000 tonnes of sugar beet has been harvested in Belarus so far, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 23 September, some 7,582,700 tonnes of grain was cropped in Belarus, including 6,543,700 tonnes of cereals and leguminous crops (with corn) and 1,039,000 tonnes of rapeseed.
The harvesting of grain corn is underway in all the oblasts of the country, with 22,500 hectares of land already cleared. Some 173,000 tonnes of grain has been threshed, with the yield averaging 76.9 centners per hectare. As much as 11,454,100 tonnes of corn silage has been harvested.
Apart from that, 43,000 tonnes of buckwheat has been harvested, with the yield at 14.7 centners per hectare. As much as 18,100 tonnes of millet has been harvested, with the yield at 19.1 centners per hectare.
The flax straw harvest stands at 110,500 tonnes.
Cereal and legume straws have been harvested from 85.2% of the mowed area.
Belarusian agricultural enterprises have harvested some 339,700 tonnes of potatoes, with the yield at 351.1 centners per hectare.
Sugar beet harvesting is underway in Belarus, with 942,700 tonnes of sugar beet harvested and the yield at 445.1 centners per hectare.
