MINSK, 22 September (BelTA) – Some 900,400 tonnes of sugar beet has been harvested in Belarus so far, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 22 September, some 7,550,100 tonnes of grain was cropped in Belarus. This included 6,511,500 tonnes of grain and leguminous crops and 1,038,600 tonnes of rapeseed.
Harvesting of corn for grain is underway in all the oblasts of the country, with 18,900 hectares of land already cleared. Some 144,000 tonnes of grain was threshed, with the yields averaging 76.3 centners per hectare.
Some 10,924,800 tonnes of corn for silage were cropped so far.
In addition to that, 41,500 tonnes of buckwheat (yields are 14.7 centners per hectare) and 17,800 tonnes of millet (yields reach 19.0 centners per hectare) were threshed.
The flax straw harvest exceeded 108,200 tonnes.
Cereal and legume straws were harvested from 84.4% of the area.
Belarusian agricultural workers have harvested some 318,100 tonnes of potatoes. The yields average 350.0 centners per hectare.
Sugar beet harvesting is underway in Belarus. Some 900,400 tonnes of sugar beet were removed, with the yields reaching up to 449.6 centners per hectare.
