MINSK, 8 April (BelTA) – The State Science and Technology Committee (SSTC) of Belarus and the Skolkovo Foundation have plans to cooperate in commercialization of intellectual property, BelTA learned from the SSTC press service.
“A relevant agreement was reached during the Belarusian stage of the Skolkovo Russian Startup Tour with the participation of representatives of the National Center of Intellectual Property (NCIP) and BelISA. Plans have been made to select two to three pilot innovation projects in the fields of healthcare, power engineering, and housing and utilities services for further implementation at Belarusian and Russian enterprises and institutions,” the press service said.
If the commercialization process goes well, the parties will cooperate on an ongoing basis, which will help Belarusian project developers penetrate the Russian market and enable Belarusian enterprises incorporate innovative solutions designed by Russian scientists and engineers.
Belarusian State Agrarian Technical University is hosting a leg of the Skolkovo Russian Startup Tour on 7-8 April. The contest is aimed at commercialization of scientific and technical solutions, development of the startup movement, and promotion of innovative entrepreneurship among youth. As many as 100 applications have been registered this year, and 55 of them passed the selection. The list of organizers and partners of the event features the Skolkovo Foundation, the Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs, the State Science and Technology Committee of Belarus, and the Minsk City Technology Park.
