Belarus, South Korea to develop cooperation in high technologies

MINSK, 12 April (BelTA) – The State Science and Technology Committee of Belarus and the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning of South Korea signed a memorandum of cooperation in science, technologies and innovations. The document was inked by ministers Alexander Shumilin and Choi Yang-hee, BelTA learned from the press service of the State Science and Technology Committee.

According to the document, Belarus and South Korea will develop sci-tech cooperation in the field of advanced technologies, including ICT, fundamental and applied research. The countries will first of all develop interaction in the priority areas of science, technology and innovations, such as mechanical engineering, industrial and construction technologies and production, IT, optics, healthcare and medical technologies, pharmacy, chemical engineering, nano and biotechnologies, new materials, electronics, natural resources management, energy technologies.

The Belarusian delegation is in Seoul on a visit on 10-13 April. The program of the visit envisages meetings and talks at Samsung Electronics, Korea Institute of Science and Technology, Korea Institute of Energy Research, National Research Foundation of Korea, Pangyo Techno Valley, Dongsung Pharm and other scientific and innovative organizations. The two countries are discussing the organization of joint sci-tech events, the mutual transfer of technologies and supplies of Belarusian high-technology products to South Korea, including medications, medical equipment, microelectronics, nondestructive evaluation devices, polymers for 3D printing, radiological monitors for nuclear power plants.
