MINSK, 14 November (BelTA) - Belarus has signed new contracts to supply peat products to China, BelTA learned from the press service of the Energy Ministry of Belarus.
Agreements on cooperation with Chinese companies were reached by the Vitebsk Oblast natural gas provider Vitebskoblgaz on the sidelines of China International Import Expo running in Shanghai from 5 to 10 November.
The Chinese business got acquainted with the capacities of Belarus’ peat industry, including the production of peat nutrient soils. As a result of the negotiations, the parties signed new contracts on peat shipments by Vitebsktorf, a subsidiary of Vitebskoblgaz. "First containers carrying Belarusian peat under new contracts will be sent to Chinese consumers by the end of the year," the Energy Ministry noted.
China International Import Expo is one of the largest exhibition events in the world. This year, it features exhibits from more than 150 countries representing Asia, Africa and Europe.
