MINSK, 31 July (BelTA) – Belarus plans to increase exports by more than 5% in 2025, Belarusian Economy Minister Yuri Chebotar told the media ahead of a meeting of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers in Minsk on 31 July, BelTA has learned.

“Today we are considering the main parameters of the social and economic development forecast for the next year. When drawing it up, we proceeded from the estimates of the world economy development. In recent years, we have set ourselves the task to grow more dynamically, at a faster pace than the world average,” Yuri Chebotar said.

Thus, the GDP growth is projected at 4.1% in 2025. “We will reach this parameter through production, export and investment programs. Together with our colleagues, regulators from the industries, we have agreed on the main parameters of production across major commodity groups, including in agriculture, based on the instructions of the head of state. For example, we will aim for at least 10 million tonnes of grain, 5 million tonnes of sugar beet, etc.”, the minister noted.

Exports of goods and services are expected to rise by 5.4%. “We are set to work in the traditional markets and tap into new ones. Our key partner is Russia, and we set to maintain our presence in this market and to boost it. We will increase supplies to geographically distant countries, including Asia (by more than 10%), Africa (by more than 20%),” the economy minister said.

Inflation is projected within 5%. “This is in sync with our program goal and will help s increase incomes of the population,” Yuri Chebotar added.

Investments are expected to increase by 7.8%. “Housing is the priority. Technology, investments in machinery and equipment are important too. Together with the regions we have prepared more than 600 investment projects for next year,” the minister added.
