MOSCOW, 22 August (BelTA) – Ambassador of Belarus to Russia Dmitry Krutoi has met with Ambassador-Designate of the Kingdom of Cambodia to the Russian Federation with concurrent accreditation in Belarus Pichkhun Panha, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian diplomatic mission.

The diplomats discussed the state of the Belarus-Cambodia political dialogue and the expansion of cooperation in trade, economy, agriculture, humanitarian affairs, culture and other fields. “Dmitry Krutoi emphasized that Belarus views Cambodia as a friend and a promising partner in Southeast Asian and is interested in closer contacts. According to him, Belarus would like to supply potash fertilizers, agricultural machinery and trucks, meat and dairy products, and petrochemical industry products that have earned a good reputation in many countries of the world. He suggested that the parties start preparing for the next meeting of the Belarus-Cambodia committee on trade and economic cooperation,” the press service said.

These proposals were fully upheld by the ambassador of Cambodia. “Dmitry Krutoi and Pichkhun Panha agreed to help arrange ministerial consultations as soon as possible, which should give momentum to the entire spectrum of the bilateral agenda and foster interaction in international organizations,” the press service noted.

The parties expressed their intention to continue contacts in Moscow and to work hard to expand the legal framework for cooperation, arrange visits of government agencies and businesses, and step up contacts between the two countries at various levels.
