MINSK, 27 March (BelTA) - Belarus shows interest in developing cooperation with Kazakhstan in building up IT competencies, Belarusian Communications and Informatization Minister Konstantin Shulgan said at a panel discussion at the ITU Regional Development Forum for the CIS 2024, BelTA has learned.
The development of common digital ecosystems in the CIS implies cooperation in terms of building up IT competencies and digital literacy of the population, Konstantin Shulgan said. “In this context, such events as the ITU regional forum, various international exhibitions promote the exchange of best practices, generation of joint initiatives and elaboration of mechanisms for their implementation,” he emphasized. Joint educational projects on digital literacy are equally important.
To maintain IT competencies at the proper level, the Belarusian minister suggested strengthening the interaction of digital competence centers and digitalization offices between the countries. “In this regard, I express interest in establishing cooperation between our Digital Development Center and Kazakh partners represented by the National Information Systems. New technologies create new challenges, which require urgent regulation in terms of their safe and controlled use. This is also a point of application of our joint efforts to develop relevant international legal acts and standards, and our potential makes us possible to solve such tasks. Belarus is a country with a high level of training and achievements in digital development and is ready to be a reliable partner in addressing issues of strategic cooperation in the area of high technologies,” he added.
