MINSK, 12 May (BelTA) - Belarus and Nizhny Novgorod Oblast of Russia are set to develop cooperation in the manufacturing sector, press secretary of the Belarusian Industry Ministry Oleg Slepchenko told BelTA.
A regular meeting of the joint working group on manufacturing took place in the format of a video conference. The event was co-chaired by Deputy Industry Minister of Belarus Dmitry Kharitonchik and First Deputy Minister of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast Albina Razina.
The parties discussed cooperation of MAZ with KOMMASH-GRAZ and also with GAZ Group enterprises. The parties also discussed development of assembly production at one of the production facilities of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast.
The participants of the meeting considered variants of cooperation in light industry, one of which is the opening of brand clothing stores of Belarusian light industry enterprises (Elema, Kalinka, Kupalinka, Svitanak etc.) in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast.
The parties also talked over possible options for cooperation of Nizhny Novgorod company Alloy with MAZ, MTZ, Gomel Casting and Normal Plant, as well as Standex Rus with industrial enterprises of Belarus in the following areas: design and prototyping of cabin and interior parts, finishing of tooling for molding and pressing of plastic parts, and so on.
Total trade between Belarus and Nizhny Novgorod Oblast exceeded $85.6 million in 2021.
