MINSK, 31 October (BelTA) - Belarus and the Republic of Karelia of Russia plan to develop cooperation in industry, agriculture and forestry. These issues will be high on the agenda of a visit of a Belarusian delegation headed by Forestry Minister Mikhail Amelyanovich to the Russian region, BelTA learned from the press service of the Forestry Ministry.

The Belarusian delegation will visit the Russian region from 31 October to 3 November and hold a joint meeting of the working group for cooperation. During the meeting the parties are set to discuss a number of pressing issues of bilateral cooperation in the fields of industry, agriculture, forestry, science, health, education, culture and sport

In accordance with Resolution No. 1235 of the Council of Ministers, Forestry Minister Mikhail Amelyanovich has been put in charge of the promotion of Belarusian products to the Republic of Karelia, Russian Federation. Last November Minsk hosted a delegation of the Russian region led by Deputy Head of the Republic of Karelia, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Karelia at the Russian President Mikhail Sokolov. The parties signed a protocol of measures to promote cooperation between the Republic of Karelia, Russian Federation, and the Republic of Belarus for 2016-2018.
