MOSCOW, 12 October (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia’s Jewish Autonomous Oblast are set to strengthen industrial and agricultural cooperation, the press service of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia told BelTA following a meeting of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko with Jewish Autonomous Oblast Governor Alexander Levintal on 12 October.
“The parties discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation and considered ways to expand and strengthen cooperation in agriculture, manufacturing industry, servicing of Belarus-made vehicles and equipment, construction, freight and passenger transportation, and organization of direct supplies of food and light industry products to the market of Jewish Autonomous Oblast,” the press service said.
The sides also discussed specific steps to boost trade and economic cooperation. Special attention was paid to the development of the legal framework for the interregional cooperation and twinning ties between Belarus and Russia’s Jewish Autonomous Oblast.
