MINSK, 22 April (BelTA) - Belarus and Chuvashia, the Russian Federation have discussed cooperation in digitalization and IT, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Communications and Informatization Ministry.
First Deputy Communications and Informatization Minister Pavel Tkach took part in the meeting of the extended working group with the Cabinet of Ministers of Chuvashia during the visit of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Vladimir Semashko to the Russian region. The deputy minister made a report on cooperation between the two countries in digitalization and IT. Cooperation in these areas was on the agenda during the meeting with Minister of Digital Development, Information Policy and Mass Communications of Chuvashia Kristina Mainina.
Since 2020, the communications and informatization minister has been responsible for promoting the national interests of Belarus in Chuvashia and intensifying bilateral relations. The minister is the head of the Belarusian part of the joint working group on cooperation with this Russian region.
In January-February 2022 the trade between Belarus and Chuvashia totaled $15.6 million. Trade surplus made $7.6 million. Main exports included specific goods: insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, disinfectants, retail pharmaceuticals, surfactants, detergents and cleaners, wood fiber boards, electrical transformers, starch, machine tool accessories, basic knitted fabrics, car and tractor parts.
