MOSCOW, 30 October (BelTA) – Belarus aims to exceed $1 billion in trade with Bryansk Oblast of Russia next year, Ambassador of Belarus to Russia Aleksandr Rogozhnik said at a meeting with Governor of Bryansk Oblast Alexander Bogomaz on 30 October, BelTA has learned.
The ambassador emphasized that the trade of under $1 billion between the sides does not match their potential. "I would like discuss the steps to exceed this mark next year. I assure you that the embassy will do its utmost to assist the trade and to promote the friendly relations between Belarus and Bryansk Oblast," he said.
Ambassador Aleksandr Rogozhnik stated that in some way Bryansk Oblast is a unique Russian region. It is located near Belarus that facilitates cooperation between the two countries in all areas. "I appreciate your high regard for Belarus. You participate in all international forums and have built wonderful relations with Ivan Krupko, the governor of the neighboring Gomel Oblast," the ambassador noted.
The ambassador pointed out that Bryansk Oblast has achieved great success in agriculture, including in the yields of grain crops and potatoes. In this regard, Governor Alexander Bogomaz said that Bryansk Oblast has already shared its practices and technologies of improving yields with Gomel Oblast.
