MINSK, 21 October (BelTA) - Belarus and Russia are discussing the Moscow-Brest high-speed transport route, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he heard a report on the development of the network of national highways and transport infrastructure to ensure an hour’s accessibility to the satellite cities on 21 October, BelTA has learned.
"We agreed with Russian President Vladimir Putin that in the near future we will discuss the construction of a high-speed route through Belarus from Moscow to the west. Until Brest, at least. If the Westerners are willing to pitch in, we can extend the project till Berlin. If not than it will be Brest and Moscow," Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
