Belarus, Russia consider developing new program in agriculture

MINSK, 21 August (BelTA) - Belarus and Russia are considering developing a Union State lupine cultivation program, Belarus’ Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Vladimir Grakun told the media, BelTA has learned.

“There has been a suggestion to draw up such a program. We will team up with the National Academy of Sciences to understand what things this program should focus on,” Vladimir Grakun noted.

He explained that before getting approval all programs are subject to validation to prove that they can yield real profit, that money will be well spent.

Currently the Belarus-Russia Union State is implementing two programs in agriculture: “Innovative development of potato and artichoke production” and “Innovative development of the flax industries of the Russian Federation and Republic of Belarus”.
