MINSK, 1 August (BelTA) – The trade turnover of the Belarusian-Russian cement market totaled $400 million over the course of four years, the press service of the Belarusian Architecture and Construction Ministry told BelTA.
Negotiations with representatives of the international holding company Eurocement Group took place at premises of the Architecture and Construction Ministry on 1 August. Belarusian Architecture and Construction Minister Anatoly Cherny and Eurocement Group President Mikhail Skorokhod discussed results of joint work in H1 2018 and future tasks.
Cooperation between Belarusian and Russian cement industry companies was invigorated when a bilateral document was signed in 2014 to allowing selling Belarusian cement in Russia via Eurocement Group. The measure allowed fully satisfying the demand for Belarusian cement on the Russian market. As much as $400 million worth of cement was traded in 2014-2018.
Eurocement Group President Mikhail Skorokhod noted: “A lot has been done to create and advance strategic partnerships between the cement companies of Russia and Belarus over the last four years. Working groups have been set up to promptly address emerging issues relating to cement deliveries. The quality of merchandise has been stabilized. Cement producers have been audited. Technical regulation and standardization at the level of the Eurasian Economic Union are being taken care of thanks to support of the cement manufacturers union Soyuzcement, which includes Russian and Belarusian cement mills.”
Belarusian Architecture and Construction Minister Anatoly Cherny stressed: “We are happy to continue tight cooperation in cement deliveries and in sharing the best practices. In other words, we are happy to practice a sophisticated approach to our cooperation. The Russian market, in particular, Eurocement Group, has been and will remain our strategic partner.”
