MINSK, 16 March (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Romania Andrei Grinkevich held a meeting with Nasty Vladoiu, Chairman at the Union of Bilateral Chambers of Commerce from Romania, BelTA learned from the Embassy of Belarus in Romania.
Andrei Grinkevich made a presentation of Belarus’ export potential highlighting the high competitiveness of a wide range of Belarusian products in the Romanian market, tourism and services. Specific area of further development of the Belarusian-Romanian trade and economic cooperation were discussed. Special consideration was given to ways of expanding contacts and interaction of Belarusian and Romanian business communities via the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Belarus and Romania.
The Union of Bilateral Chambers of Commerce of Romania (UCCBR) was founded in 1995 with the aim of promoting Romania's export through economic diplomacy. The Union has an institution of permanent trade representation interacting with the Ministry of Economy of Romania on the basis of public-private partnership. As part of the work to promote Belarusian exports to the Romanian market, the Embassy of Belarus in Romania has established constructive cooperation with UCCBR.
In 2020, the head of the Belarusian diplomatic mission and Chairman at the Union of Bilateral Chambers of Commerce from Romania Nasty Vladoiu signed a memorandum of understanding between the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Romania and the UCCBR. The embassy uses the UCCBR resources to promote commercial offers of Belarusian exporters, to look for Romanian companies interested in cooperation with Belarusian enterprises. The UCCBR journal, issued in electronic form, publishes articles penned by the Belarusian ambassador which cover the state and prospects for the development of Belarusian-Romanian cooperation.
