MINSK, 16 September (BelTA) – In January-August 2024 retail trade in Belarus totaled Br57.5 billion, up 12% year-on-year in comparable prices, BelTA learned from the National Statistical Committee.
One-day retail sale volume per capita came at Br25.7 as against Br22.2 in the same period a year prior.
Retail outlets accounted for 94.9% of retail sales. In January-August 2024 they reported Br54.6 billion in retail sale volume, or up 12.9% as against January-August 2023.
In January-August 2024 wholesale turnover amounted to Br121 billion, or up 7.1% year-on-year in comparable prices.
In January-August 2024 trade by public catering outlets totaled Br3.9 billion or up 12.1% as against the same stretch a year ago.
