MINSK, 24 August (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Quito Igor Poluyan has met with recently appointed Executive Chairman of the Chamber of Industry and Production of Ecuador Pablo Zambrano to discuss Belarus-Ecuador economic cooperation, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Ecuador.
The diplomat held a presentation of Belarus’ economic, agricultural, scientific and technical potential, talked about the activities of the branches of the Belzarubezhstroi and Belorusneft companies in Ecuador, noted the readiness for industrial cooperation, and stressed the prospects of setting up joint enterprises to assemble Belarusian automobile, agricultural and other equipment. Igor Poluyan emphasized Belarus’ readiness to assist agricultural mechanization in Ecuador and invited the members of the Chamber to the international exhibition Belagro in 2019.
The chairman of the Chamber hailed Belarus’ high economic, scientific and technological level. He expressed his intention to organize a visit to Belarus in 2019 for a delegation of businessmen from the Andean community (Ecuador, Colombia and Peru).
The parties reached an agreement to hold an additional meeting of the head of the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Quito with Ecuadorian businessmen to discuss ways of expanding the trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
