MINSK, 24 March (BelTA) – Belarus is ready to cooperate with Russia’s Orel Oblast in construction and industrial sector, Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov said as he met with Orel Oblast Governor Vadim Potomsky on 24 March, BelTA has learned.
“We hope that the current visit of the Orel Oblast delegation to Belarus will give a fresh impetus to our relations. We value the progress in our cooperation,” Andrei Kobyakov stressed.
He noted that Belarus is open for cooperation in all fields. For example, Belarusian specialists are ready to take part in construction projects in Orel Oblast. Belarus currently particulates in projects to build facilities for different purpose in Russia, including entire residential neighborhoods. “We can offer interesting projects and building materials, and provide all that is needed for construction of residential housing,” the Belarusian Prime Minister pointed out.
As for industrial cooperation, Andrei Kobyakov said that Belarus and Orel Oblast can implement projects in machine-building. Belarus would like to boost its exports of lifting equipment and take part in projects to upgrade and replace lifts in the Russian region.
Andrei Kobyakov also invited the Russian delegation to discuss prospects for supplying Belarus-made machinery to Orel Oblast. “We can fully satisfy the region’s demand for cutting-edge freight, mining, passenger, forestry, road-building, and municipal vehicles. We successfully sell all kinds of machinery,” the Prime Minister stressed. Besides, Belarus is ready to export gas-fueled vehicles.
Agriculture is another promising cooperation area. The focus is placed on increasing the supplies of Belarusian farm machines to Orel Oblast, developing technologies for manufacture of chemical products for agricultural purposes, and strengthening partnership ties in breeding. Besides, Belarus and Orel Oblast will step up cooperation in science, education, and culture.
On behalf of the Orel Oblast delegation, Vadim Potomsky thanked the Belarusian side for the hospitality.
During the visit of the Russian delegation, the governments of Belarus and Orel Oblast signed an agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation.
