MINSK, 14 April (BelTA) – Belarus is ready to provide assistance to Ecuador with the implementation of its national program of agricultural mechanization. The matter was discussed during a meeting between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Ecuador Igor Poluyan and Director of the Agriculture Department of the Ecuadorian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Aquaculture and Fisheries Ana Belen Marin, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties discussed the state and prospects of cooperation between Belarus and Ecuador in agriculture and food industry. “Igor Poluyan told the Ecuadorian side that Belarusian enterprises are ready to supply cutting-edge agricultural machinery, set up assembly plants in Ecuador, and provide advisory and technical assistance with the implementation of the national program of agricultural mechanization of Ecuador,” the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. The parties also discussed ways to strengthen scientific cooperation in agriculture and considered the possibility of training Ecuadorian specialists at Belarusian agricultural universities.
Igor Poluyan extended an official invitation from Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister Leonid Zayats for Ecuadorian Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Aquaculture and Fisheries Javier Ponce to visit Belarus, attend the international expo Belagro 2016, and hold a substantive discussion of cooperation issues.
