MINSK, 12 April (BelTA) – The IT sector in Belarus will continue enjoying support at the top level. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the relevant statement as he met with representatives of the IT sector in the Hi-Tech Park on 12 April, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “You and I have embarked upon this policy and will not be swayed from it. We will continue walking straight. If we encounter some sharp angles we don’t need today, we will steer around them but I’ve supported you and will support you. Because in the grand scheme of things you are my children [the Belarus president was the one to decide in favor of setting up the Hi-Tech Park in the past]. I’ve created you with my own hands as well as I could. Now you are grown up and can suggest where we move on from here. We are going to move in this direction as effectively and as far as you would like.”
“You wanted crypto currency, crypto exchange, crypto mining and the rest, you wanted to set up the farms… We will follow this road together,” the head of state added.
At the same time Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that honesty and decency must be the underlying principles: “If you need something – don’t be foxy – come and tell me what you want and we will resolve any problem. And you will not have to push the law and the rest.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed one more time that the state will enable support for this industry. “We will do it. It is my job. I will not let anyone to offend you. I will only support and help you as far as I can,” the Belarusian leader said.
