MINSK, 29 April (BelTA) – It is necessary to accelerate the informatization of the national economy. The statement was made by Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko in his address to the nation and the parliament on 29 April, BelTA has learned.
“All the modern management mechanisms that our competitors use should be introduced in Belarus. Today the informatization of the economy should be accelerated. Moreover, we have the capability to do that,” noted Alexander Lukashenko. In his words, modern information technologies are not just a branch of the economy but one of the key levers to manage the economy and the society as a whole.
The President stated that the IT industry has been developing fast in Belarus recently and the country has seriously advanced in international rankings that measure the development of information and communication technologies. “As far as this indicator is concerned, we are already ahead of all the post-Soviet countries. Only systemic nature of the informatization effort will secure its further success,” the head of state was convinced.
