Belarus presents its investment potential in France

MINSK, 22 January (BelTA) – Belarus has presented its investment potential in the French cities of Lille and Tourcoing, BelTA learnt from the Embassy of Belarus in Paris.

The events organized by the Belarusian embassy in France included presentations of Belarus’ opportunities in trade, economic and investment cooperation with the companies of Nord-Pas-de-Calais. Attending the presentations in Lille and Tourcoing that were held in cooperation with the chambers of commerce and city halls of the two cities were more than 60 businessmen of the region.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to France Pavel Latushko and counselor to the embassy Vladimir Malevich presented the information on Belarus’ export and investment potential, cooperation prospects between companies of the two countries. Special attention was paid to the participation of French companies in the First Belarusian-French Business Forum in Minsk in February 2015.

Pavel Latushko also met with First Vice Mayor of Tourcoing Didier Droart and members of the city council to discuss trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation between Belarusian companies and the establishments of the French city. The parties agreed to establish twin-town relations between the Partisansky District of Minsk and the city of Tourcoing and organize a business visit for a French delegation to the Belarusian capital.

Besides, the expo of eight Belarusian artists was opened in Tourcoing as part of the art project Zabor on 20 January. One of the exhibition halls of this French city hosted a vernissage featuring 20 works of students of the Minsk Oblast school for hearing-impaired children.
