MINSK, 25 January (BelTA) - Half a million visitors have passed through the Belarusian pavilion at Expo 2020 in Dubai. The figure demonstrates the interest of visitors in what Belarus showcases, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the UAE Andrei Luchenok said in an interview to STV channel, BelTA has learned.
Taking part in the largest international forum Expo 2020 in the United Arab Emirates are 192 countries, including Belarus. Day of Brest Oblast was held in the Belarusian pavilion on 24 January. Belarus presented the potential of its Brest Oblast, including its tourist infrastructure, free economic zone Brest, and a variety of investment projects. The Brest Oblast's delegation comprising representatives of the country’s largest companies expects to conclude contracts worth about $15 million.
According to Andrei Luchenok, the interest in the Belarusian pavilion in Dubai is very big. “Half a million visitors have passed through the Belarusian pavilion, which is a very good figure demonstrating visitors' interest in what our country showcases here. The East is not an area where you can work remotely, sending faxes or e-mails, hoping to get a response. Personal contact is important here. Expo, like any other exhibition (maybe even to a greater extent), provides an opportunity to meet with counterparts, make agreements. Of course, this form of work brings results,” the ambassador said.
