MINSK, 20 March (BelTA) – The matter of supplies of energy resources was discussed during negotiations of Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei with Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs Jacek Czaputowicz and Commissioner for Strategic Energy Infrastructure Piotr Naimski via a video conference, BelTA has learned.

Vladimir Makei told media after the video conference: “As per instructions of the head of state we’ve discussed the diversification of supplies of energy resources with assistance of Poland.”

In his words, concrete projects were mentioned. The sides understand that it is necessary to move on. Results may be achieved in the near future, Vladimir Makei said.

The sides also discussed other matters of bilateral cooperation and interaction at international platforms. Close attention was paid to the fight against the spread of the new coronavirus and the return of Belarusian citizens from Poland. “We’ve agreed to tightly cooperate in case any problem situations emerge. All the problems that existed several days ago have been resolved,” Vladimir Makei noted. “There is a clear understanding that it is necessary to act upon concrete off-nominal situations and steer clear of red-tape practices.”

The sides also agreed to resume full contacts in the trade and economic sphere after the epidemiological situation improves. Matters of Belarus’ cooperation with the European Union and the state of affairs in the region were also looked into.
