Belarus’ PM visits Minsk City Technopark
MINSK, 11 November (BelTA) – Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko is visiting Minsk City Technopark on 11 November, BelTA has learned.
The technopark has a total of 54 resident companies located on three sites. The largest number - 43 - are located in Soltysa Street. Another ten residents are in Partizansky Avenue. There is one resident in Tsentralnaya Street. Roman Golovchenko is paying a visit to the site in Soltysa Street, where the technopark was initially set up.
Electric units for vehicles, space technology, smart city elements, transportation control systems, including the metro, medical and veterinary products, equipment for processing oilseeds, automatic warehouses and cash registers - these and many other areas are developed in the technopark.
“The technopark has been rapidly developing. We have new sites today. The main one is in Partizansky Avenue (Motovelo Plant). We are now carrying out a comprehensive reconstruction there, and after its completion the site will feature areas for different purposes - manufacturing, offices and purpose-built premises. The demand for production space is high. I call upon everyone who wish to become residents of the technopark to hurry up, because now you will be able to implement your project faster,” Director of Minsk City Technopark Vladimir Davidovich said.
According to him, about 60% of the technopark residents' products are exported, but this figure fluctuates every year. The production of import-substituting products is no less important. “Our market and the Russian market are huge, there is room to grow. Now there is a dynamic readjustment of sales chains, and we should not miss the chance to occupy a strong niche,” the technopark director said. The products are exported not only to the Russian Federation, but also to Central Asia and Europe.
The technopark helps its residents to look for foreign partners, as well as financial, technological and human resources. The technopark provides necessary engineering infrastructure and a favorable environment for development. Its enterprises work in cooperation, implement joint projects. Tax benefits are available: the profit tax is only 10%. The new site in Partizansky Avenue offers a special procedure: within five years from the moment of registration as a resident of the technopark the enterprises are exempted from profit tax and can import equipment duty-free during this period.
The Minsk City Technopark was established on 4 November 2011 as part of the Belarusian state program of innovative development. The main task of the technopark is to support enterprises in the implementation of innovative projects by ensuring benefits and preferences provided for by the legislation, creating favorable conditions for doing business in the hi-tech sector, supporting innovative start-ups.
