Belarus’ PM lays out cooperation proposals for Russia’s Sverdlovsk Oblast

Belarus’ PM lays out cooperation proposals for Russia’s Sverdlovsk Oblast

YEKATERINBURG, 9 July (BelTA) – Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko voiced Belarus’ cooperation proposals as he met with Sverdlovsk Oblast Governor Yevgeny Kuyvashev, BelTA has learned.

“The contract for the supply of trolleybuses for Yekaterinburg has been completed. We provide support for the operation of these trolleybuses. We hope that our preliminary agreements will translate into contracts to deliver the second batch of trolleybuses for Yekaterinburg and fire fighting equipment for the region. These issues will be discussed in more detail at the meeting of the joint working group. In addition, we are ready to upgrade the tram network using your existing trolleys and installing new Belarusian-made bodies. This will help the region save some money,” said Roman Golovchenko.

He mentioned an agreement to launch joint production of hydraulic pumps in Belarus. “The work is proceeding quite vigorously, everything is on schedule. Ambitious, landmark projects that were born on Yekaterinburg soil are becoming a reality,” the prime minister noted.

“We believe that cooperation with Sverdlovsk Oblast holds a lot of promise. Therefore, the government of Belarus decided to open a consulate general in Yekaterinburg in order to streamline interaction and quickly address important issues,” Roman Golovchenko remarked.

The Belarusian head of government came to Yekaterinburg to attend the international industrial exhibition INNOPROM. Belarusian enterprises are taking part in this expo as part of the Made in Belarus exposition. The Belarusian exposition is on par with that of the United Arab Emirates, this year's partner country, in terms of the number of new products and exhibits. The Belarusian stand has aroused a great interest among professional visitors, representatives of foreign companies and the business community.
