MINSK, 6 March (BelTA) – Export should be a priority, Belarus’ Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said at a meeting of the board of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 6 March, BelTA has learned.
“We have managed to adapt our economy to severe and illegal restrictions, we have changed our export strategies. In 2023, the export to friendly nations exceeded the amount of deliveries that we could not supply to the West, Ukraine and other markets by $1.8 billion,” said Roman Golovchenko.
“This year will be just as intense, since we need not only to maintain momentum, but also to fulfill the task set by the president - to increase the export of goods and services by 7.6%. The task is very challenging,” the prime minister emphasized.
The government has set industry- and region-specific targets regarding the amount and value of export. “These tasks need to be fulfilled,” added Roman Golovchenko.
The board took stock of the work of Belarusian diplomatic missions in 2023.
