MINSK, 18 December (BelTA) – Belarus intends to supply over 2,000 tonnes of starch to China in 2018, Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister Leonid Zayats said in an interview with the Belarus 1 TV channel when commenting on the results of his visit to the country, BelTA has learned.
“Today China has a keen interest in our starch. We exported more than 1,200 tonnes of starch to the country in January-October 2017. During the visit, we sealed deals to supply over 2,000 tones of starch in 2018,” the minister noted.
Belarus also offered China to consider opening its market for another 14 Belarusian dairy companies in 2018, Leonid Zayats added. Belarus’ dairy exports to China include whole milk powder, skimmed milk powder, and ultra-heat-treated milk. Belarus may also supply pilot batches of cheese and whole milk products with a long shelf life.
