MINSK, 12 October (BelTA) – Belarus’ pharmaceutical export is projected to amount to $115 million in 2017, Deputy Director General of the Management Company of Belpharmprom Holding Company Viktor Shein told media, BelTA has learned.
Every year the number of pharmaceutical companies increases in the country. Therefore the task has been set to boost the export volume.
According to Viktor Shein, Belarus has the ability to boost export today but there is a risk of "stripping" the domestic market off high-quality and, most importantly, affordable medicines. For example, the medicines costing less than $1 account for 36.8% in Belarus, from $1 to $2 for 25.4%, from $2 to $5 for 22.8%. If the figures are summed up, one can see that 85% of the medicines on the domestic market cost less $5.
