MINSK, 25 November (BelTA) – Belarus is ready to assemble electric buses in Kaliningrad Oblast, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with Russia’s Kaliningrad Oblast Governor Anton Alikhanov on 25 November, BelTA has learned.
“We strive for closer cooperation between automotive industries of Belarus and Russia. After all, we have extensive expertise and knowledge in this field. Minsk-made buses have demonstrated excellent performance in Kaliningrad Oblast,” the president said.
In his view, the passenger vehicle fleet can be expanded by means of modern eco-friendly vehicles – Belkommunmash electric buses. “We are ready for joint assembly production of these vehicles in your region,” Aleksandr Lukashenko suggested.
Prior to the meeting with the Belarusian head of state, the delegation of Kaliningrad Oblast toured Belkommunmash. The delegation members saw the company’s assembly shops and tested the electric buses.
