MINSK, 21 April (BelTA) – The Belarusian economy needs at least $1.5 billion in FDI in 2016 to regain growth, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said in his State of the Nation Address on 21 April, BelTA has learned.
“This year we need at least $1.5 billion in FDI to restore economic growth. This will help us replace the internal resources we lack with the foreign sources,” the head of state noted.
He stressed that China is one of the biggest global investors today. “A credit line worth $8 billion has been opened for Belarus. China has promised as much support as Belarus will need,” he said.
