MOSCOW, 7 February (BelTA) – Belarus became the fourth largest trading partner of Russia in the world and the first in the CIS in 2017, BelTA learned from the Russian Federal Customs Service.
According to the Russian customs, in 2017 the Belarusian-Russian trade amounted to $31,856.1 billion, an increase of 24.3% over 2016. The Belarusian exports to Russia increased by 20.5%, reaching $12,471.5 billion. Imports from Russia to Belarus rose by 26.8% to total $19,384.6 billion.
Last year, Russia’s top three trading partners were China, Germany and the Netherlands. The trade of Russia with China amounted to $87 billion (an increase of 31.5%), $50 with Germany (up 22.8%),$39.5 billion with the Netherlands (up 22.4%).
On the list of Russia’s largest trading partners in 2017, Belarus was ahead of the United States, Canada, Japan, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, and all CIS states.
