CHISINAU, 3 October (BelTA) - Belarus and Moldova will intensify and expand cooperation in the field of architecture and construction. This is envisaged in the protocol which was signed by Belarus’ Architecture and Construction Minister Anatoly Cherny and Moldova Minister of Regional Development and Construction Vasile Bitca during the 17th session of the Belarusian-Moldovan intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation.

The document provides for enhanced cooperation between the parties in construction through the exchange of experiences, information, legislative and normative acts in the field of design and construction of housing, in particular, housing intended for socially vulnerable groups of people, BelTA learned from the Moldova Government. Plans have been made to promote investment opportunities in Moldova.

Moldova Minister of Regional Development and Construction Vasile Bitca said that the protocol provides for changes and additions to the agreement on cooperation in the field of architecture and construction between Moldova and Belarus of 1995.

According to him, the purpose of the document is to deepen and expand bilateral cooperation between Belarus and Moldova in the area of the construction of housing, including social housing. The protocol is designed to give impetus to overcoming the difficulties and challenges faced by the construction industry of Moldova.

Vasile Bitca stressed that Moldova is now busy harmonizing its domestic legislation in the field of construction with European laws and will use the eurocodes. He noted that Moldova appreciates the openness and willingness of partners from Belarus to cooperation.
