MINSK, 4 April (BelTA) – Architecture and Construction Minister of Belarus Ruslan Parkhamovich reviewed the state and prospects of Belarus’ cooperation with Russia’s Kaluga Oblast at a joint business meeting, BelTA has learned.
Belarus and Kaluga Oblast boast well-established cooperation in trade and economy, partnerships and good neighborly ties, Ruslan Parkhamovich noted. “Kaluga Oblast is one of Belarus’ key partners. Although our cooperation has been exceptionally successful, we still have untapped reserves, primarily in manufacturing and import substitution,” the minister said.
The chambers of commerce and industry of Belarus and Russia are tasked to facilitate economic development at the institutional level, to promote partnerships in the real sector of the economy, and to encourage all types of entrepreneurial activity, the minister emphasized. “We should continue developing mechanisms to promote mutual interests. According to our estimates, the economic potential of Belarus and Kaluga Oblast allows us to fulfill these tasks,” he is sure.
Ruslan Parkhamovich noted that Belarus and Kaluga Oblast are actively cooperating in construction and manufacturing. “We are extremely interested in the expertise and knowledge of Kaluga Oblast in promoting economic growth with a focus on manufacturing that is based on the cluster model. At the same time, Belarus is ready to meet the needs of Kaluga Oblast in all kinds of freight and special-purpose vehicles, passenger transport, road construction machinery, elevators and other types of equipment. Closer cooperation in transport and logistics can also contribute to economic growth of both Belarus and Kaluga Oblast,” he concluded.
At the business meeting, companies from Belarus and Kaluga Oblast are exploring the possibilities to cooperate in the production of heat pumps, electrical products, plastic products, construction equipment and materials, furniture for home and office, in supply and maintenance of road machinery and other fields.
