Belarus, Mexico plan to boost trade, step up cooperation ties

MINSK, 31 October (BelTA) – Belarus and Mexico plan to boost trade and step up cooperation ties. The issue was discussed during the working trip of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Cuba with concurrent accreditation to Mexico Alexander Alexandrov to Mexico, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.

“The ways to step up trade and economic cooperation, in particular, the possibility to organize the delivery of Belarusian industrial products to the Mexican market and promote cooperation ties were discussed at the meeting of Belarus’ Ambassador with the senior officials of the Secretariat of Economy and the Secretariat of Agriculture of Mexico,” the press release of the press service reads.

The meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mexico Carlos de Icaza Gonzalez focused on the topical issues on the bilateral agenda, the ways to enhance bilateral contacts in the spheres of mutual interest.

The talks with Director General for Europe of the Mexican Secretariat of Foreign Affairs Francisco del Rio focused on the prospects of expanding the legal framework of bilateral relations, the ways to enhance the Belarusian-Mexican interaction in international organizations, promote parliamentary ties, and organize a number of joint events.

Alexander Alexandrov also met with the high-ranking representatives of the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation at the Mexican Secretariat of Foreign Affairs to discuss the prospects of cooperation in science, technology, and culture. The participants of the meeting paid special attention to the economic and trade cooperation.

The meeting of the Belarusian diplomat at the Mexico City Administration focused on the participation of Belarusian enterprises in infrastructure projects in Mexico City, the delievry of Belarusian passenger transport.
