MINSK, 20 May (BelTA) – The delegation of Belarus’ Industry Ministry led by First Deputy Industry Minister Aleksandr Ogorodnikov took part in the 14th edition of the International Economic Forum “Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum 2023,” BelTA learned from the press service of the Industry Ministry.
The delegation included heads of holding companies and organizations affiliated with the Industry Ministry. Belarusian enterprises presented their latest launches at the international exhibition complex Kazan Expo.
Aleksandr Ogorodnikov met with Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Oleg Korobchenko, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Albert Karimov, top executives of some companies and administrations of scientific and educational institutions.
Aleksandr Ogorodnikov reaffirmed Belarus’ commitment to closer trade and economic relations with Russian regions and readiness to meet their needs in technology products (trucks and haulers, passenger vehicles, agricultural equipment and elevators).
In 2022, the trade between Belarus’ Industry Ministry organizations and the Republic of Tatarstan increased by 50% over the previous year. In the first quarter of 2023, the upward trend remained in place (a growth rate stood at 160%). The main exports are tractors, metal products, component parts for motor vehicles, compressors for refrigerators, etc.
Belarus is running a number of projects with Tatarstan. For example, MTZ-Tatarstan is implementing a project to create a single maintenance and sales center for Belarusian automotive industry enterprises. The permanent exposition showcases and sells agricultural machines, cars and utility vehicles, engines, diesel generators. In addition, today RariTEK Holding and Minsk Motor Plant are in talks with the State Scientific Center of the Russian Federation NAMI over certification of engines running on gas motor fuel. When these certification tests are completed, there are plans to certify Belarus tractors running on gas motor fuel.
The Industry Ministry of Belarus and KAMAZ are implementing a long-term cooperation agreement for the period up to 2025. The document provides for the expansion of mass production and supplies of products made by the Industry Ministry enterprises (MPOVT, Minsk Bearing Plant, BelOMO, BKM Holding) to KAMAZ.
MAZ - BelavtoMAZ maintain cooperation with manufacturers of special motor vehicles of Tatarstan.
Aleksandr Ogorodnikov pointed to the positive dynamics in bilateral cooperation and a significant potential for trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Tatarstan.
