MINSK, 9 April (BelTA) - Belarus is looking forward to receive about 700,000 respirators in the coming week, Belarus’ Healthcare Minister Vladimir Karanik said during a meeting in the parliament, BelTA has learned.
Together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, embassies and the business community, the Healthcare Ministry has established additional respirators supply channels. “About 100,000 respirators will arrive in the country within the next three to four days. Belarus is looking forward to receive about 700,000 more in the coming week,” Vladimir Karanik informed.
The minister said that the stocks of respirators for healthcare workers in Belarus exceed 170,000 items. Around 5,000-6,000 are used per day.
As for other means of protection, for example protective overalls, the Belarusian industry has launched their manufacture. “The industry will soon reach the designed capacity of 20,000-25,000 to meet the demand of personnel for protective gear,” the minister said.
