MINSK, 17 September (BelTA) – Belarus and Japan are planning to cooperate in innovative sportswear production. Such an agreement was reached at a meeting between Japanese businesses and the Belarusian light industry concern Bellegprom, BelTA has learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Japan.
Japan’s official delegation and businessmen arrived in Belarus in the run-up to the second Belarusian-Japanese economic forum. The foreign guests visited the Belarusian light industry concern Bellegprom and Belarusian textile companies Kamvol and Elema. The parties discussed ways of increasing exports of light industry goods from Belarus to Japan. “An agreement was reached to arrange a presentation of the Belarusian light industry in Tokyo and Sendai. The parties also agreed to cooperate in innovative sportswear production,” the embassy said.
Deputy Chairperson of the Standing Commission on Economic Policy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Aleksei Sokol met with Koichi Matsudaira, a member of the House of Representatives of the National Diet of Japan. Belarusian Ambassador to Japan Ruslan Yesin also took part in the meeting.
In addition, Koichi Matsudaira spent two days, 15-16 September, in Gomel Oblast where he visited Gomel State Medical University, Polesie State Radioecological Reserve and historical and cultural heritage sites of Belarus.
